The first full-length trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network.
Maybe it’s because I’m at work, but this actually looks kind of good. It sort of reminds me of A Beautiful Mind in a way (probably just because of the dark colors and intense-intellectual-on-a-college-campus setting).
Cultural Differences - Developing a European social media strategy [08Jul10]
I’m heading to Europe in the autumn. It’s interesting to hear about how different countries tend to use social media. Supposedly the French enjoy blogging. I’ll look into that.

Facebook The Movie Set to Release Oct 01, 2010
I am certain the news of this movie (officially titled The Social Network) will receive plenty of negative feedback and snarly remarks because it is directly targeted at a web savvy audience that is naturally more inclined to be outspoken and to broadcast their thoughts via social media. Especially, considering the majority of social media broadcasters (twitterati and bloggers) seem to produce a disproportionate amount of negative content.
I know most people will be quick to downplay their excitment for this movie, but I got to be honest, I personally can’t wait to see this film. As a social media marketing advocate and loyalist the content of this movie hits close to home.
The cherry on the top is that one of my favourite directors on the planet is also involved in this film - the legendary David Fincher, who of course is the man behind films such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button ,The Game , Fight Club just to name a few.
I also found it interesting that Justin Timberlake stars in the movie as Sean Parker, who just so happens to be one of the tech innovators I admire most.
Personally, I can’t wait till October 1, 2010 when the film is schedule to debut.
Is #social #media a fad?
We don’t think so. It’s a marketing tool that needs to be used and enjoyed at the right time. Just a new form of communicating the same old messages we love to talk about.
What are you talking about?
Social Media Revolution 2010
The Social Network - The story of Mark Zuckerberg’s rise from nerdy Harvard hacker to one of the most powerful people controlling your (somewhat) personal information should be an interesting movie. Leaked scripts have described the Facebook CEO’s bio-pic as ‘unflattering at best and a public-relations disaster at worst’.
The trailer looks intriguing but what I am really anxious to see is the response of Facebook users, as well as Zuckerberg’s PR machine which might need to work overtime. The movie hits theaters on October 1st.
Cisco Intern Duties: Social Media, PR, Rap Video
Greg Justice may be one of the only interns in history to be profiled in the Wall Street Journal mere weeks on the job. The 21-year-old English major at Stanford University is working in the communications department at Cisco this summer as a social media intern. His tongue-in-cheek “I am the World’s Most Interesting Intern” rap video, above, extols his abilities (and Cisco’s products, of course).
Since being noted on Cisco’s blog, the spoof on Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Man in the World campaign has almost notched some 50,000 views on Cisco’s YouTube channel — almost double that of CEO John Chambers’ epic duck calls video. Clearly, Cisco’s PR team has a sense of humor and Justice has a bright future (though not in rap) and has already traveled to Las Vegas for his job. We’re just grateful he’s not autotuning their corporate videos.
